Obituary: Helen Margaret Finley

This Bayside resident passed away at 78.

Helen Margaret Finley (Nee Sullivan, of Bayside, passed away on Feb. 13 at the age of 78.

She was a resident of Los Gatos, CA, former longtime resident of Bayside, WI. Beloved wife of the late Richard Donald Finley. Loving mother of Anne Marie Finley of Arlington, VA, Margaret (Carlos) Almeida of San Jose, CA, and Robert G. Finley of Portage, MI. Treasured grandmother of Lauren Renee Almeida, Matthew Albert Almeida, Andrew Richard Almeida and Anastasia Helen Finley. Dear sister of Marie Grant, Walter (Sandy) Sullivan and Frank Sullivan. Dear sister-in-law of Cathleen Bleidorn and Thomas (Margaret) Finley. She is further survived by many caring nieces and nephews and well as good friends.

Helen was born on Sept. 1, 1933 in Boston, MA She graduated from Newton College of the Sacred Heart in Newton, MA in 1955 and she received her MS from Marquette University in 1957. She married Richard Donald Finley, a Milwaukee lawyer, on June 27, 1959 in Newton, MA. She taught Anatomy and Physiology in Milwaukee at St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing from 1957-1961 and Milwaukee Area Technical College from the 1970’s-2001.

In addition, Helen was the former President of the St. Eugene School PTA and the St. Eugene’s Parish Women’s Club in Fox Point. Visitation will be held at the Feerick Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 17, from 5 until 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Robert Catholic Church, 2224 E. Capitol Dr., Shorewood, on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
