Obituary: Peggy Waugus-Gross

Peggy lost her battle with inflammatory breast cancer on June 18, 2012, at age 46.

The world will always remember you as a beautiful, courageous and fun-loving person. We will all miss you forever. Peggy lost her arduous battle with inflammatory breast cancer on June 18, 2012, at age 46.

Peggy was born to Patricia and Everett Waugus of Marinette, Wisconsin and is survived by them.

Peggy is also survived by her husband Bill and her three beautiful daughters, Danielle, Nicole and Kelly. Further survived by her sisters Eileen, Kathleen, Noni and MJ; and brothers Steve and John. In addition, Peggy is survived by a very large contingent of extremely loving and dedicated relatives and friends who never wavered in their support of Peggy and her family throughout her long ordeal.

Peggy graduated from Marinette High School; Marinette Wisconsin and received her Bachelor’s of Science in Social Welfare from UW Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She worked with children in a variety of roles for her entire career span. She touched the lives of thousands of children and their families; primarily in the North Shore during her working career. She worked at the UWM Kunkle Center; , and

Peggy was a unique mother in that she literally kept her own children within her reach during their pre-elementary school years by enrolling them along with her in all the places she was employed. Her dedication and devotion to her children was always her primary focus in life.

The family would like to thank the following, Dr. J. Bovi and his staff; and the wound care nurses at Community Memorial Hospital. Dr. C. Shamah and his chemotherapy nurses; and Horizon and Zilber Hospice’s, and the parishes of St. Catherine's and St. Eugene's church for their expertise in caring for Peggy throughout her wellness and in her final months on this earth.

In Lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the Peggy Waugus-Gross Children’s Education Fund. A life celebration will be held at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church at 8661 North 76th Place, on Friday, June 22, from 4:00-8:00 PM with a memorial service at the church at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 23, at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine of Alexandria.
