Obituary: WWII Vet, Fox Point Resident Tadeusz 'Ted' Debowski

WWII POW and member of the Polish Veterans of America passes away at age 89.

Funeral services were held July 23 for Fox Point resident Tadeusz 'Ted' Debowski, who died July 18 at age 89.

Debowski, Tadeusz "Ted" passed away at home on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at the age of 89. Preceded in death by his loving wife Margot, his parents Jozef and Maria and his brother Edmund. Survived by his son Richard (Carol) and daughter Christina (James Weinert), grandsons Dennis J. and Phillip M. Kukla, sisters Helana and Krystyna in Poland and other family members around the world. Born in Lisianki, Poland in 1924. He was conscripted into the German work force service at the very young age of 16. He was a POW in WWII where he met our mother in Germany. He came to this country to build a better life for himself and his family. He enjoyed life, his Polish New Life Choir, his soccer games, being part of the Polish Veterans of America and a member of the Polish Center of WI. He worked hard all his life and retired from Patrick Cudahy in 1986 and Pick N' Save at the age of 80. He will be missed and loved by all. 

Visitation at the Max A. Sass and Sons Funeral Home, Greenridge Chapel, 4747 S. 60th St. on Tuesday, July 23, 10:30 am – 12 noon. With a procession to St. Alphonsus Church, 6060 w. Loomis Rd. for Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30pm. Entombment to follow at St Adalbert Cemetery. Memorials suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
