UPDATED: 133-Year-Old Coin Thought Stolen, Now Found

Fox Point police questioned a worker who was in the victim's bedroom working unsupervised for a period of time, but he denied taking the items. The coins have since been reported found to Fox Point police.

A resident at the in Fox Point reported theft of part of a coin collection from her bedroom.

According to police reports:

She discovered the coins missing on July 20, a few days after a representative from a company contracted by the complex washed the interior windows of her apartment; he was left alone in the room for periods of time.

Questioned by police, he denied taking the items and the incident is still under investigation. Total value of the items was estimated at $619. Among the missing items are:

  • 1879 silver dollar
  • 1885 silver dollar
  • 1886 silver dollar
  • Three 1921 silver dollars
  • A set of 20 1964 uncirculated Kennedy half dollars (20) worth $216.
