18-Year-Old Caught with Marijuana, Paraphernalia

Police arrested a Milwaukee man for possession of marijuana and operating while intoxicated, after initially pulling him over for driving 30 MPH over the speed limit on I-43.

Clocking in at 30 MPH over the speed limit, police pulled over an 18-year-old Milwaukee man March 24 for speeding and later arrested him after finding marijuana and a glass pipe. 

At 2:27 a.m., an officer spotted the man driving southbound on I-43, and clocked him at 85 MPH in a 55 MPH zone, according to the police report. The officer caught up to the car and conducted a traffic stop in the 8500 block of the interstate. 

During the stop, the officer could smell the odor of pot coming from inside the car, according to the police report. The driver told the officer he had only been smoking cigarettes, and denied having any illegal substances.

Police conducted field sobriety tests and based on the results, took the driver into custody. 

During a search of the man's car, police say they found a glass pipe with green leafy residue, in a boot, and an orange prescription bottle with a green leafy substance. Police later subjected the substances to chemical tests, confirming they were marijuana.

The man was cited for operating while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.
