More Than $21,700 in Jewelry Stolen From Resident at the Portico's Apartments

Victim lost two diamond rings and a pair of diamond earrings. Police are still investigating.

Fox Point police are investigating a theft from the where a 77-year-old woman's jewelry was stolen.

According to the report:

At 7:15 a.m. Friday, the woman's son came to the to report the missing jewelry. He said about six weeks ago, his mother was not able to care for herself and went temporarily to an assisted living facility.

He went to her apartment to take care of some things for his mother and decided to check on several valuable pieces of jewelry that she had left there. He said two rings and a set of earrings had been stored in a container and were placed into a zippered suitcase that was kept in the bedroom closet. When he discovered they were gone, he confirmed with his mother that the items had not been removed or moved to another location.

  • Ladies 14k yellow gold set with a 1.00 ct. diamond, surrounded by two straight baguettes, 0.15 ct each. Valued at $11,950.
  • Ladies 14k yellow gold set with a 0.96 round diamond, surrounded by 11 diamonds with 11 diamonds total weight 0.45 ct. Valued $7,000.
  • A 14k yellow gold clip on earrings with two round brilliant diamonds with a total ct. weight of 0.67, valued at $2,750.
