25-Year-Old Mequon Man Arrested for OWI

After a search of his vehicle, police discovered nearly 15 beer bottle caps, but no beer bottles.

A 25-year-old Mequon man was arrested for operating while under the influence after he was identified as driving “all over the road."

According to the report:

On May 12, a caller told there was a car behind him with its headlights off, swerving “all over the road.” Officers caught up to the car, noticed the same erratic driving and pulled him over in the 9800 block of Interstate 43.

Officers asked the man if he’d been drinking and he admitted to having three beers throughout the evening. Officers noticed his eyes were glassy and his speech was slurred. As soon as he got out of the vehicle, as requested by officers, he began to sway. 

He was unable to perform the field sobriety tests and was arrested for OWI. A search of the vehicle revealed 10 to 15 beer bottle caps. His BAC was 0.17. He was cited for OWI and prohibited BAC. He was released to his father at 5:10 a.m.
