9-Year-Old's Bike Stolen From Fox Point Garage

Homeowner tells police the $300 bike was kept in a garage that's sometimes left unlocked and open. The little girl discovered it missing when she tried to take it to school one morning.

A 9-year-old Fox Point girl went to take her bike to school one morning and discovered it missing from the garage. she told police she clearly remembers putting it away in the garage, but her mom admitted to Fox Point police the garage door is sometimes left open. 

A Fox Point mother and her daughter came into the Fox Point police station just before 4 p.m. on Oct. 2 to report that the 9-year-old’s bike had been stolen from the garage in the 7300 block of North Crossway Road.

She described the bike to police as a Novara Moxie 24” girls mountain bike the report said. The little girl explained that she clearly remembers returning home with it and storing it in the attached garage. The Friday before it was stolen, she had wanted to take the bike to school and found it was missing she told police. Nothing else was missing from the garage though according to the report. The girl's mother said she and her husband tend to leave the garage door open when they are home.

It’s a 7-speed, girls bike with mud flaps on the front and rear tire and retails for $299.99. 

Police said this case is considered closed, pending further information.
