Bayside Boogeyman Strikes Again

Police called after man rips off and throws branches into neighbors yard.

was up to his "usual" ways when he was hurling branches and shouting at police last week.Β 

arrived at 3:19 p.m. on Oct. 7 in the 8600 block of North Greenvale Road. When they got there, they noticed the 55-year-old Bayside man was inside by a large window and told officers through the window, to get their car off his property.

Police told the man they needed to talk and either he could let the officers in, or come outside. He declined and called the officer, a "fat liar." The report says he began to yell at police through the open window with his "usual rant" and said he was "sick" of all the branches hitting him in his face when he mowed the lawn.

Officers determined it was best to try and talk to the neighbor who placed the call first, and headed over to speak with the man's neighbor to the North. The neighbor told officers he and his wife were outside when they noticed a number of tree branches in their yard, many of which were ripped off the tree and not cut.

He acknowledged his neighbor having every right to trim the branches of his tree that drooped or grew into his yard, however he was upset that they were just ripped instead of cut off. "This will kill the tree," the neighbor said.

The 55-year-old man was cited for disorderly conduct, a $681 fine.
