Burglary in Bayside Last Week

A burglar broke into a house on Laramie Lane and stole jewelry while the residents were home.

A suspicious noise that a married couple assumed was made by their opposite half turned out to be the noise of a burglar breaking into their house last week.

The burglary is believed to have happened at 10:30 p.m. on July 14 at a home in the 700 block of Laramie Lane. The husband was downstairs watching television at the time, and the wife was upstairs in the bedroom. They both heard a suspicious noise, but assumed the noise was made by the other person.

It turns out a rear door had been left unlocked, which allowed a brazen burglar to sneak into the house and go upstairs to steal a gold necklace valued between $30 to $40 and a necklace and earring set valued at $50.
