Car Fire Quickly Extinguished

Reports from the log of the North Shore Fire Department.

The North Shore Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire in the 400 block of West Willow Court in Fox Point at 11:18 p.m. Friday.

Police on the scene had already broken a window and discharged an extinguisher into the vehicle. Firefighters accessed the rest of the vehicle and found no other active fire. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $11,000 and no cause was readily apparent.

  • Crews responded to an alarm at a business in the 300 block of West Brown Deer Road about 1:30 p.m. July 11. No fire was discovered; a work crew on the scene was cutting concrete, and when the bag collecting dust on a shop vacuum broke, that dust set off the alarm.
  • An alarm was set off in the 9500 block of North Wakefield Court in Bayside about 12:30 p.m. July 13. When firefighters responded, they found a company spraying foam insulation in the basement. Water vapor from the process was assumed to have triggered the alarm.
