Cement Statue Crosses Village Lines, Ends Up in Parked Car

It was a not-so-happy Halloween for one Bayside family when they discovered vandalism and a strangely placed statue Nov. 1. 

A teenager in the 300 block of West Manor Circle told Bayside police someone smashed several pumpkins in the driveway and left a three-foot cement statue of a small boy with a bucket in the front passenger seat of his unlocked car, the police report said. 

He told police the statute didn’t belong to him and he had no idea where it came from. He said he called the only person he thought may have been involved, but that teen denied taking any part, the report said. Police noted that the boy he called was previously arrested for vandalism earlier in the year, including an incident the same residence.

Bayside police later learned the statue came from a Fox Point yard when someone filed a complaint with police on Nov. 2. Bayside police returned the statue to the Fox Point Police Department.
