Crime Corner: Missing Money, Bad Checks and More

Reports from the Fox Point and Bayside police departments.

A resident in the 100 block of E. Fairy Chasm Road reported to that she saw four teenagers hide their bikes under the railroad maintenance buiding just south of Fairy Chasm Road at 6:48 p.m. Sept. 24.

She told police she saw one of the teens throw something toward the tracks that broke, which she said sounded like a glass bottle. They left their bikes and started walking West. She said there were two boys and two girls, all wearing dark clothing.

When the officer arrived, he found two bikes leaning up against the building hidden under the south side. The other two were down a small embankment in the woods according to the report. He loaded all four bikes into the trunk of his car. The teens were not found in the area.

  • $50 was stolen from the office on Sept. 12. 
  • A woman's purse was stolen from her unlocked vehicle parked at the Sept. 19. The purse was valued at $50 and the contents included a Jitterbug phone, $300 cash, drivers license, medications and two Visa cards. The total theft is estimated around $420.
  • Fox Point police assisted in the outside around 2:30 p.m. Sept. 22 after he attempted to rob Guaranty Bank in Brown Deer, then fled.
  • A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was cited by Bayside police for issuing worthless checks Sept. 22 after he tried to pay a citation he had received for making an illegal u-turn. The citation for the worthless check cost him an extra $681. 
  • At 3:30 p.m. Sept. 19, a 29-year-old Menomonee Falls woman stopped before completing her left-hand turn from North Port Washington Road onto Brown Deer Road. She was then hit from behind by a 68-year-old Bayside man. No citations were issued.
  • At 3:45 p.m. Sept. 24, a 60-year-old Mequon woman's foot slipped off the brake when she was at the North Port Washington Road and Brown Deer Road intersection, causing her to slide forward. She struck the car in front of her, driven by a 44-year-old Mequon woman, who then struck the car in front of her, driven by a 52-year-old Milwaukee woman.
