Crime Corner: More Vandalism at Stritch, OWI and a Missing Snowblower

A was patrolling the area around at 1:40 a.m. Sept. 6, when a security guard flagged him down to report .

The guard told the officer an unknown person had damaged the wires of a fire alarm pull switch near Bonaventure Hall.

The report says the wires were covered by a a wire guard which appeared to have been pulled away from the wall, leaving the wires exposed from where they would normally enter the floor.

Another security guard said he discovered the damaged wires. He said around 12:45 a.m. while in the Powerhouse building, he noticed that the fire alarm was activating. He said he began to search the campus for the alarm location and at around 1:05 a.m., he noticed the damaged switch wires. Because of the damage, the Plant Director said the alarm system would be offline until it could be fixed. The damage is estimated at $200.

• An unknown vehicle struck a parked car in the 8600 block of N.  Fielding Road between 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Sept. 5.
• Bayside police alerted the parents of some juveniles who were tipping over picnic tables at just before 7 p.m.
  Sunday.
• Around 8 p.m. Friday, someone reported gunshots in the 1100 block of E. Brown Deer Rd. Bayside police determined they were from fire works. 
• A red and white single stage snowblower was stolen from sometime between 7 p.m. Sept. 5 and 7 a.m. Sept. 6. The owner said it was a "junk one," however he valued the stolen property at $50 to $75. 
• A 17-year-old Bayside teen was cited for posession of marijuana and drug parapharnelia at 4:40 p.m. Sept. 7 when officers found a pipe and one gram of THC in his backpack at . 
• A 29-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, prohibited BAC and for an unregistered vehicle by Bayside police at 2:13 a.m. Sept. 8. He was pulled over for an expired license plate when officers noticed the smell of alcohol. His blood alcohol content was 0.13.
