Crime Corner: Oh Baby! Diaper Bag Stolen In Parking Lot

A woman told Fox Point police she did not see anything suspicious in a parking lot where her diaper bag was swiped around 2 p.m. on Nov. 28.

Police said the 49-year-old woman from Sacramento, CA had gone into the CVS Pharmacy at 8661 N. Port Washington Rd. to do some shopping. When she left the store, she placed the diaper bag on the ground next to her vehicle, so she could load her child into a safety seat. She told police she stayed in the back seat for a bit to feed the child.

When she got out of the vehicle, the diaper bag was gone. The diaper bag contained items including a digital camera worth $300, a Blackberry cell phone worth $200, a wallet with $150 in cash inside, along with credit and ID cards, and neumerous baby items.

  • On Nov. 30, an officer pulled over a vehicle on North Foxcroft Lane at 1:47 a.m. A 27-year-old man with an identification card from Mexico told police he did not have a valid drivers license. The man's license had been revoked due to a previous operating while intoxicated arrest. Police arrested the man for driving without a valid license.
  • An officer spotted a driver with a lead foot in the 8300 block of Port Washington Road on Nov. 28 at 3:47pm. According to police, a 42-year-old Whitefish Bay woman had been driving 42 mph in a 15-mph school zone. Police discovered the woman had a revoked drivers license due to a prior operating while intoxicated conviction. The woman had an ignition interlock device installed on her vehicle and told police she thought she had an occupational license. Police arrested the woman for driving without a valid license.
