Crime Corner: Vandalized Mini Cooper, Gas Drive Offs and Some Fender Benders

Reports from Fox Point and Bayside police departments.

responded to a property damage complaint in the 6900 block of N. Belmont Ln. on Monday at 7:16 a.m. Someone had painted graffiti on the family's white Mini Cooper with orange spray paint.

The son had last driven the vehicle the previous evening and said that the car had not been damaged when he parked it. Officers found that there were paint drippings under the rear of the car, leading them to believe the car was parked in the driveway when the paint was applied. The graffiti was strictly nondescript scribbles, no specific words or pictures.

There were two other cars in the driveway with no damage, and numerous other cars parked in driveways on the same block also without any damage. The son said he did not know who would have vandalized the vehicle, and didn’t notice anyone follow him home that night. Officers estimated the damages to be around $500.
