Drunk Driver Disappears, Reappears for Police

The Fox Point man said he had just left a wedding on the East side of Milwaukee and was only trying to get home. Once he was pulled over, he ducked down a couple of times before police approached the car, then reappeared.

A 21-year-old Fox Point man was returning from a wedding when police pulled him over for speeding. However, he'd had a bit too much to drink at a wedding and police caught right on.

According to the report:

A officer was parked in the 7600 block of North Port Washington Road just before 1 a.m. on Aug. 26 when he caught a car driving 45 mph in a 35 mph zone.

He pulled the vehicle over and as soon as it stopped, the driver disappeared from view, reappeared, then disappeared two more times. The officer said he seemed agitated in the vehicle and was continuously looking into the mirror and all around to see when he was going to approach the vehicle.

When the officer spoke to the man, he immediately smelled alcohol inside the car. When asked if he’d been drinking, the man admitted he had and explained he had just left a wedding on the East side of Milwaukee and was trying to get to his home on Santa Monica Boulevard.
