Fox Point police arrested a man for first offense drunken driving March 16, following a traffic stop for expired registration and swerving on the roadway.

At 4:50 p.m., a squad was parked near Maple Dale Middle School when an officer observed a car drive past with damage to a side mirror and the passenger side of the car. The officer began following the car, ran the plates, which came back as expired, and later witnessed the driver swerve on the roadway.

A traffic stop was made in the 500 block of West Bradley Road. Upon police contact, an officer said the driver smelled of alcohol and slurred his speech, but it was unclear if it was related to a medical condition the driver suffered from.
