Flying Beer Cans on I-43

Bayside police arrested someone for throwing beer cans out their van window on I-43 last week.

Beer cans were flying on I-43 last week.

One motorist called police at 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 15 to report the passenger of the van in front of him had thrown an item out of the widow that a beer can hit his vehicle. Police found the van parked on the Brown Deer off-ramp, where the passenger threw four 24 ounce cans of Red Bull malt liquor into the grass.

The vehicle eventually got off the ramp and started driving eastbound on Brown Deer Road. Bayside police pulled the vehicle over in the River Point shopping center parking lot.

The driver, whose blood alcohol content registered 0.11, was cited for drunken driving with a person less than 16 years old in the vehicle, as a 15-year-old boy was seated in the back of the van. The passenger was cited for littering.

While in the squad car, the driver hit his forehead against the cage, leaving a bump on his head. He was transported to Milwaukee County Jail for a violating his probation/parole.
