A 24-year-old Fox Point man was arrested for battery after being accused of punching a Glendale man so hard that he had to go to the hospital.Β

The incident took place in May following a party at an apartment in the 8600 block of North Port Washington Rd. But the 21-year-old victim didn't report the crime until June 13, when he stopped by the and told police that he was punched so hard in the head that he needed three stitches.

When officers asked why he was reporting it a month later, he said he initially was worried about retaliation. However, after he received a $1,300 hospital bill, he decided that he wanted the two men who assaulted him to pay for it.

The victim said he and his brother walked toward their car, but the Glendale man was punched twice before he dodged a third punch. The brothers got to their car and after realizing the Glendale man was bleeding from a large cut on his face, they went to Saint Mary’s Hospital.

After conducting follow-up interviews with other people who were at the party, Fox Point police asked the 24-year-oldΒ  Fox Point man to come to the station for questioning.

He told police he did not remember getting into a verbal or physical argument with anyone at that apartment, nor does he know or remember the Glendale brothers.
