Fox Point Man Charged With Fifth OWI

A 49-year-old Fox Point man was charged last week for his fifth drunken driving offense.

According to a criminal complaint, Lon Masters was driving recklessly and closely following another car on Lake Drive at 12:42 a.m. on Aug. 24. At one point, near Palisades Road, Masters passed the other vehicle and accelerated to a speed of 50 to 60 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone.

Blood draw results were not included in the criminal complaint, but a Breathalyzer test measured his blood alcohol content at 0.10.

If convicted, Masters faces a maximum six years in prison and $10,000 in fines. He will also be required to have an ignition interlock device installed in his vehicle.
