Shorewood High School was locked down for about 30 minutes Wednesday when police arrested a 19-year-old Fox Point man in the parking lot.

Fox Point police were looking for a man who, police say, had made suicidal threats and was possibly carrying a firearm. They sent out notice to other local police departments and that's when Shorewood police stepped in.

When a police search led to the high school parking lot, the school was subsequently put into "code red" at about 11:45 a.m.

Police helped move teachers and students to a safe area in the high school during the lockdown.

Superintendent Martin Lexmond said the incident occurred toward the end of a lunch hour and students and teachers only lost about five minutes of class time.

No one was injured.

Police say they did arrest the suspect and he was not carrying a firearm.
