Green Bay Van Man Faces Second Drunk Driving Charge

Suspect, 22, is charged with his second drunk driving offense after a Fox Point police officer catches him speeding in the village.

A 22-year-old Green Bay man is accused of driving drunk while speeding through Fox Point Saturday.

Antonio Javier Morales was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Sunday with one count of second offense operating while intoxicated. If convicted, he faces up to six months in jail and $1,100 in fines.

On Saturday, a Fox Point police officer on patrol in the 8300 block of North Port Washington Road saw Morales driving a van northbound and doing 45 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour speed zone. Morales was pulled over by the officer, who immediately noticed the strong smell of alcohol coming from inside the car.

Morales failed field sobriety tests and was then taken in for a blood test.

Morales was convicted of his first drunk driving charge in September. He will make his initial appearance in court Feb. 5.
