An Indiana man is facing fines of up to $21,000 and just more two years in jail after being charged Friday for wielding a gun in a road rage incident that left a semi-truck driver in fear for his life.

The truck driver told police a man had cut him off and applied his brakes. The truck driver turned on his bright lights in response, and that's when Manning pulled out a handgun, aiming it behind him at the truck driver.

The truck driver called 911 and continued to follow Manning, updating police where they were as they drove. Sheriff's deputies pulled Manning over near Brown Deer Road on I-43.

Deputies searched his vehicle and found a .45-caliber semi-automatic firearm on the passenger seat and a 9mm semi-automatic pistol was recovered from the glove compartment. Manning was also wearing a holster. Both guns were loaded with one cartridge in the chamber and he also had two additional magazines in the car, as well as three boxes of 9mm ammunition, with a total of 219 rounds in it. He also had ammunition for a .223-caliber rifle in the car.

When officers placed Manning in handcuffs and told him he was being arrested, he said: "The semi driver was using his vehicle as a weapon and I was only defending myself."

During the booking process, the complaint says that other inmates asked Manning why he was there.

"A semi was tailgating me and if he (the semi) hadn’t have backed off, I would have put four rounds right into the engine block,” the complaint said.

Manning has a concealed carry permit for Arizona and Indiana, both of which have reciprocity in Wisconsin.

He was charged with two counts of endangering safety by dangerous use of a weapon and one count of disorderly conduct/dangerous use of a weapons. All charges are misdemeanors.

Manning is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 10.
