Intoxicated Woman Says 'I'm Going to Fail This One' Before Breath Test

When Fox Point police pointed out she was driving on the wrong side of Port Washington Road, the woman said she thought it was OK because it was a one-way.

A woman trying to make her way home after drinking in downtown Milwaukee wound up in Fox Point driving down the left side of Port Washington Road, which she told officers she thought was a one-way street. 

According to the report:

Around 2:30 a.m. on June 13, were patrolling in the 7600 block of North Port Washington Road when they noticed a brown minivan heading north in the southbound lane. Police pulled the van over and told the driver why they had stopped her.

When they told her she was on the wrong side of the road, the 36-year-old Milwaukee woman said she thought she was on a one-way street. When asked where she was heading, she said to the south side. She also said she was was coming from the south side. The passenger clarified that they were actually coming from downtown. Police asked the driver if she’d been drinking and she admitted to having about five drinks.

During the one-leg stand test, the driver swayed from side-to-side. When preparing for the preliminary breath test, she said, “I’m gonna' fail this one.” Her PBT was 0.176. She was arrested for operating while under the influence.

She was cited for operating while impaired 2-nd offense, prohibited alcohol concentration and operation after revocation. She was also cited for operating left of center.
