Mequon Man Arrested for OWI

Tells officer he wasn't drinking, then blows 0.13 on Breathlzyer.

A 34-year-old Mequon man was arrested by on Friday at 2:03 a.m. in the 7900 block of North Port Washington Road.

According to the police report:

The man was traveling 58 mph in a 35 mph zone. Police pulled the man over and asked why he was traveling so fast. The man said he had just picked up a friend and did not realize he was going so fast.

The officer smelled alcohol on the man's breath and also noted his eyes were bloodshot and glossy. When asked if he had been drinking, the man said he had not. The officer explained he could smell that the man had been drinking, and then he admitted to police he had consumed two beers at 6 p.m.

He was cited for operating while under the influence with a blood alcohol content of 0.13, and for prohibited alcohol concentration.
