Merchandise Needs to Be Purchased Before It's Returned

Fox Point police responded to an interesting scam at Walgreens Saturday afternoon.

He may not have purchased the items, but at least he had the receipts.

Fox Point police responded to Walgreens  at 2:25 p.m. Saturday after a clerk reported that a man attempted to return two items – a tooth brush and a box of nasal strips – using receipts that he found in the trash can.

Using the discarded receipt, he went into the store, found the items on the shelf and took them to the counter in an unsuccessful attempt to get some quick cash. Both items were valued at $6.49.
