The customer noticed that Hurst began rummaging through the customer's coat pocket. When the employee confronted Hurst, he asked to use the bathroom, and did not close the door all the way, then left heading toward Best Buy.

According to the Fox Point police report:

While officers were searching Hurst, he became very argumentative and began screaming obscenities. Police found six pink and two white tablets that were not in a prescription pill bottle. He also had a 4-inch knife in his front pocket.

During the ride to the station, Hurst continued to yell profanities and threaten officers. At the station, he was searched again and officers found small bag of marijuana in his jacket pocket.

During the interview with police, Hurst admitted to using the scissors to try and pry open the cash drawer at Great Clips, and also admitted to being in the other salon.

Police also found a mirror covered in a pink powder and a rolled up dollar bill, also covered in pink powder, in his car. Police tested the residue on the mirror and bill, which matched the pink pills they had found on Hurst earlier. Both the pills and the residue tested positive for methamphetamine.

At 12:30 p.m., Hurst was transported to the Milwaukee County Jail and will eventually be extradited to Minnesota for a felony warrant.

Hurst also faces four municipal citations for theft; criminal damage to property; possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia/control of drugs.
