More Break-ins of Unlocked Vehicles in Fox Point

Police Chief recommends locking doors and keeping lights on.

Two vehicles were broken into last week in Fox Point.

On Thursday, were dispatched to the 400 block of E. Daphne Rd. when a resident said that at around 6 a.m., she noticed her car had been entered.

She exited her home to retrieve her morning newspaper and noticed that items inside her car had been moved, and the glove box was open. She said she then looked inside her husband’s vehicle and noticed items had been moved in there as well. Both vehicles were parked in the driveway and left unlocked overnight. There was no damage to either vehicle, but a $10 bill was missing from the center console of one of the cars.

"We suggest that everyone lock the car doors and the doors to their home," Fox Point Police Chief Tom Czaja said. "Lighting is a deterrent to crime.  We suggest people leave an outside light on at night and install motion sensor lights.  We also suggest that people remove any valuables from the car including GPS units."
