Nearly $4,000 in Video Games Stolen from Best Buy

Fox Point seeking three women in connection with shoplifting scheme.

Three women made off like bandits last week, stealing nearly $4,000 worth of video games and personal electronics from in Fox Point.

According to police:

On Sept. 18, three women were caught by surveillance cameras as they entered the store just before 1 p.m. Loss prevention representatives told that one of the women had purchased an item, so when the alarm went off, she would show the receipt that she had purchased something and that the alarm was an error. Then they would all be waived through security, however, the other women were concealing merchandise they had stolen.

Security personnel also told police that they recognized the women had been in the store three of the last four weeks, however, this was the first time they had been identified as suspects in the thefts.

Best Buy officials do not have an exact count of what was taken, but told police that numerous video games and several computer tablets were taken. After reviewing the security video, the women are seen grabbing numerous video games and hiding them in their clothing, including:

  • Two Samsung Galaxy Tablets, total value of $1,057.03
  • One Nokia X2 cell phone, valued at $55.99
  • One Motorola Clutch cell phone, valued at $64.99
  • A total of 45 Xbox 360 and PS3 games, total value of $2,708.46

The grand total of all the stolen items comes to $3,866.

Fox Point police have no one in custody at this time, however, the department released a photo of the woman suspected in the thefts.Β Β  Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Fox Point Police Department at (414) 351-8911.
