PD Report: Drunken Driver; Counterfeit Bills

Fox Point police make a operating while intoxicated arrest after finding a woman sleeping in her car, and respond to a report of counterfeit cash found at a local bank.

Fox Point police arrested a woman for drunken driving March 30 after they say she was found intoxicated and sleeping in her car.

At 3 a.m., police say an officer observed a car parked on the side of the roadway in the 7000 block of North Clair Court with its headlights on. There appeared to be no one in the car and the engine was turned off. 

The officer returned about an hour later to find the car still parked, with it headlights on, but this time, the engine was running.

The officer made contact with the woman who police say smelled of alcohol and slurred her words when she spoke.

She told police she was in the area visiting her boyfriend, and hadn't had much to drink.

She failed on-scene sobriety tests and registered a 0.17 blood alcohol content during a Breathlayzer test.

It’s her first such offense.

  • Cornerstone Bank, 8607 N. Port Washington Rd., phoned police April 4 to report a counterfeit $50 bill and $20 bill, after the notes were rejected by the bank’s bill verifier machine. The bills were part of a deposit by a Milwaukee gas station. The bills were handed over the Fox Point police.
