Pinch Buggy: Teens Lift Cheap Booze, Try Getaway in Slow Ride

A Nicolet High School senior attempted to steal a bottle of Fleischmann's vodka from CVS. Little did they know the VW Bug they rode off in would be easily spotted by Fox Point police.

A couple of teenagers tried to take make off with a $6.99 bottle of vodka from CVS but the getaway car was less than inconspicuous.

Fox Point police were on their way to respond to a theft call at CVS Pharmacy around 2:18 p.m. Friday when dispatch gave a description of the two men involved - including that they'd just left in a black, VW Bug soubound on North Port Washington Road. 

Officers found them and pulled the car over in the 7500 block of North Port Washington Road.

There were three men in the car and one of them admitted that he, and another, were inside CVS Pharmacy. He initially said he didn’t know about the other man stealing anything from the store, however, that other man eventually admitted he took a bottle of liquor from the store.

Police had the men get out of the car and when one stepped out, they found an unopened bottle of Fleischmann's vodka, valued at $6.99, on the floor. He was arrested and cited for retail theft and for minor in possession of alcohol. He told police he took the vodka for a friend of his.

He was released from custody and transported to his grandmother’s home in Whitefish Bay.

Police noted in their report that he was polite and cooperating while working with police and he’s currently a senior at Nicolet High School.
