Plea Deal Reached In Fox Point Man's Overdose Case

Marshall Luke Larsen pleads guilty to a lesser felony count for supplying heroin that eventually killed a Fox Point man in 2011.

The man who supplied heroin that eventually killed Fox Point resident Tim Reck in 2011 may be headed to prison, but for a lot less time.

to one count of possession of a controlled substance. He had originally been charged with one count of manufacture and deliver of heroin, which carried a maximum sentence of 12 ½ years in prison, however, the amended charges offer significantly less prison time.

In 2011, Larsen came to Fox Point after Reck’s band played in a concert in Appleton. The even though Reck heeded caution about using the drug.

On April 24, 2011, Reck was found by his girlfriend on the floor of the bathroom in his father’s home in Fox Point. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.  

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner determined that Reck died from anoxic brain injury due to acute heroin intoxication. According to a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article, the medical examiner also found street drugs, pharmaceuticals and alcohol in his system.

Because of the mixture of drugs in Reck’s system at the time of his death, Larsen will avoid homicide charges under the state’s Len Bias law.

Larsen will be sentenced Dec. 5 by Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Timothy Dugan.
