Crime Corner: School Computer Theft, Suspicious Vehicle and More

Reports from Fox Point and Bayside Police Departments.

On Jan. 27 cited a 43-year-old man for parking improperly in a lot located on the 8700 block of North Pelham Parkway. Police said the man had parked his vehicle in the grass and not on the pavement. The man received a ticket for an unenclosed storage.

Gas Drive-Off 

A driver took off with $30 worth of unpaid gasoline from the at 501 W. Brown Deer Road at 4:35 p.m. on Jan. 28. Police were unable to locate the suspected vehicle. 

Suspicious Vehicle

Bayside Police were called to the Open Pantry at 501 W. Brown Deer Road on Saturday at 11:17 p.m. for a suspicious vehicle. The caller said the vehicle had been parked for 20 minutes with the engine running. Police discovered the driver to be OK and had been using a cell phone during that time.

Side-Swiped 

A 44-year-old female from Bayside received a citation following a car crash on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Another vehicle was slowing to make a left turn in the 600 block of West Fairy Chasm Road when the ticketed driver crossed the center line and passed the vehicle on the left side of the road. The ticketed driver's car side-swiped the vehicle trying to make the left turn. The woman was fined $126.60 for operating left of the center line.

Computer Theft

were called to the parking lot of . in the 8700 block of North Port Washington Road on at 7:17 p.m. Jan. 24 for a theft investigation. A man having dinner at the restaurant said someone smashed the rear passenger-side window to his vehicle and stole a laptop computer that had been sitting in the back seat. The man told police the computer belongs to Nicolet High School, where he works. The computer and its carrying case both have the school logo on the front. Damage is estimated at $500.
