Police Report: Illegal U-Turn Leads to Arrest on Open Warrants

A Green Bay man was cooperative after the warrants showed up during a traffic stop by Bayside Police.

Bayside Police arrested a 27-year-old Green Bay man on two outstanding warrants after he made an illegal U-turn in the wee hours of July 29.

According to police reports, officers observed a red pickup truck make the illegal U-turn from eastbound to westbound Brown Deer Road at the intersection with Port Washington Road. A language barrier made it difficult for officers to communicate with the male, who eventually showed a Honduran identification card. Officers learned the man’s drivers license had been revoked after he failed to appear for an assessment following an operating while intoxicated citation. In addition, he had two warrants issued by Brown County, one for hit-and-run and operating after revocation and another for operating after revocation.

A Spanish-speaking officer was requested from the Brown Deer Police Department to communicate with a passenger in the car, while Bayside officers transported the driver the station, where he was cooperative. He was then transported to the Milwaukee County Jail and held on the open warrants.
