Purse Stolen From Car at Doctor's Park

Only one credit card purchase was made: $1 at a Citgo gas station.

While playing with her children on the playground equipment at just 200 feet from her vehicle, a 37-year-old Whitefish Bay woman was robbed when someone broke the passenger window and stole her purse.Β

On Friday, the woman flagged down a officer when she returned to her mini-van and found someone had smashed the passenger window and stolen her purse. She said she was never more than 200 feet from her vehicle as her children were playing on the playground equipment, and she did not see or hear anything.

The officer took a look at the vehicle and found the passenger window shattered, with glass on both inside the vehicle and on the asphalt next to it.

The woman told officers that she left her purse on the passenger seat, and inside it was her wallet with $150 cash in it, drivers license, credit cards, a social security card and blank checks. She valued the purse at $60, and the wallet at $40.Β

While explaining to the officer what was missing, she was on the phone with her husband who was canceling her accounts. He said her credit card had already been used at a Citgo for $1. Officers estimated the window replacement cost at $300.
