Bayside Man Robbed, Stabbed on Bike Trail

18-year-old was attacked on Milwaukee's east side.

An 18-year-old Bayside man was stabbed while riding his bicycle on the path in the 2100 block of North Oakland Avenue at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Milwaukee police said.

According to police:

The man was riding his bike when he was approached by another man who asked if he could use the rider's cell phone. The victim gave the suspect his phone, and the suspect ran off. The victim grabbed the suspect and while they struggled for the phone, the suspect took out a knife and stabbed the victim in the in the stomach. The suspect got away with some of the victim's property and is still at large.

While the man's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, he is being held at a local hospital for observation.

The suspect is believed to be a homeless individual and is described as a black male in his 40s, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 150 pounds and missing his front teeth. He was wearing a black hoodie and dirty black jeans. Β
