Police: Six Fox Point Homes Targeted By Vandals

Six homes all across Fox Point were vandalized on late Monday night and possibly into Tuesday morning. Each of the homeowners awoke to find grey smiley faces and a large "X" on many of their garage doors. But the most expensive damage came to a homeowner in the 8600 block of North Manor Lane, totaling an estimated $750.

This homeowner called  Tuesday evening to have officers come take a look at the damage the vandals left behind.

The rear hatch of his blue minivan had a mostly circular hole, about one inch in diameter, punched through the back of the van, according to the report. Police noted that it was piercing the sheet metal rather than denting it. The area around the hole didn't appear to be dented inwards. Repairs are estimated at $750.

A mailbox in the same block was painted with the same grey paint. Damage is estimated at $25.

There was the same large, grey "X" and smiley face painted on a home in the 7500 block of North Bell Road, as well as the man's bridge. The house numbers on the mailbox were covered in grey paint, too. Damage is estimated at $100.

In the same block, there weren't any smiley faces. However, someone had taken what looked to be the same grey paint and thrown it on the homeowners white garage door. When police arrived to speak with the homeowner, the paint was still tacky the report said. Damage is estimated at $200.

With the recent rash of vandalism in both Fox Point and Bayside, some residents are questioning if these incidents are related. While both departments are aware the that there have been many reports of vandalism in both towns, neither department has any suspects at this time.
