Students Shop With Fox Point, Bayside Cops Saturday

Fox Point and Bayside police joined forces with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office Saturday to take 75 kids out for breakfast and a little holiday shopping.

Fox Point police officer Jenny Smith and Bayside officer Cory Fuller spent Saturday morning helping kids pick out Christmas presents for friends, family and themselves during Shop With A Cop, organized by the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.

“This is a great opportunity to make a child’s holiday a little brighter,” Sheriff Daivd Clarke said in a press release. “If we influence children early, we can forge a positive perception of law enforcement officers that will last a lifetime.”

On Saturday, 75 kids between the ages of 5 and 13 were paired up with an officer, then took a charter bus to the Sheraton Milwaukee Brookfield Hotel. The morning kicked off with a big breakfast and was followed by trip to Walmart where each child was able to spend up to $100 on gifts for themselves, family and friends the press release said.
