Thief Hides Best Buy Bluetooth in Sales Flyer

Sharp eye employee catches the thief and calls police.

On Feb. 28, a 28-year-old Cudahy man tried to steal a blue tooth head set from , but due to the sharp eye of an employee, the man was apprehended by .

According to the report, the employee saw a man conceal merchandise inside a sales flyer. He watched the man walk into the men's bathroom and called police. Officers located the subject in the store and walked him to the security office.Β 

They asked where the merchandise was, and he stated he did not take anything, holding his jacket open for inspection. An employee had found the empty container for the blue-tooth earpiece and showed it to officers.

Police searched the man and found the headset in his right pant pocket. The earpiece, instructions, and accessories were all together and still had the packaging stickers on them as well.

He claimed the earpiece belonged to him and denied taking it. It matched the empty packaging, and was worth $129.99. The man was arrested and cited for retail theft.
