Three Suspects Charged With Vodka Theft

The latest Fox Point police reports also include a drunk driving arrest and criminal damage to property.

Three people are facing state charges after stealing vodka from CVS Pharmacy in Fox Point.

A 56-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of concealing three bottles of Absolute vodka, while his accomplice – a 39-year-old Milwaukee woman – distracted the clerk at about 1:30 p.m. on May 10. The store clerk later told police that she recognized the man from a previous shoplifting incident at the store.

A third person – a 56-year-old Milwaukee man – drove the getaway vehicle. The car was soon pulled over by Fox Point police, who found the three stolen bottles of vodka in the car. While searching the man, an officer poked himself on a hypodermic needle in the man's front pocket.

The three suspects received state charges for retail theft, due to the suspects' prior criminal history. One of the men, who had a hold with the Department of Corrections, was also charged with bail jumping.

  • A male under the age of 21 was caught speeding and drunken driving on Port Washington Road earlier this month. A Fox Point police officer noticed the vehicle was traveling 60 mph in a 35 mph zone, and pulled the vehicle over near Appleby's Service Station on Port Washington Road. The male said he was heading to Port Zedler Motel in Mequon, where he and his mother have been staying for the past several days. He was cited for speeding, underage drinking and drunk driving.
  • A man reported that the mother of his 12-year-old child scratched his car with a key while dropping off the child with him at 7:35 p.m. May 10 in the 500 block of West Bradley Road. The man told police that, after she handed over the child, she walked past his vehicle and scratched the driver's side quarter panel. He told police that he asked her why she scratched his car, but she didn't respond. She told police she sent a text message apologizing and offering to pay for the damage. She was cited for damage to property.
