Twelve Fox Point Youths Cited for Underage Drinking

Fox Point Police called for noise disturbance and find teens hiding in the basement.

Just before 10 p.m. March 12, were called to a home in the 7700 block of North Boyd Way for an anonymous noise complaint. The caller noticed several juveniles standing outside, yelling at each other for nearly a half hour.

As officers approached the residence, they noticed almost a dozen vehicles parked on the street, and another five or six additional vehicles in the driveway. Two of the teenagers were seen in a vehicle parked on the road. Officers went over to speak to them, and noticed the scent of alcohol.

When asked to complete a breathalyzer test, both teenagers consented. Three additional teens walked out of the home and down the driveway toward the officers. They also consented to a breathalyzer test.

While one officer stayed with the teens, another went to speak with the home owner. When asked if she was aware that the underage teens were drinking, she replied, "They shouldn't be, I just checked on them." She continued to explain to police that her daughter was having friends over and they were in the basement. Officers asked the woman if they could speak with the people in the basement to determine if they were drinking and she said, "Let's go have a look."

As the officers followed her, they noticed that she appeared to be moving very slowly, and used both railings on either side of the stairway. She also began announcing that the police were on their way down.
