A 22-year-old Milwaukee woman is accused of spitting in a Glendale police officer’s face after he escorted her from an area hotel.
Sherrell Shante Griffin was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of expelling bodily fluids at a public safety officer. If convicted, she faces up to 1 ½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
On Saturday, a Glendale police officer was called to LaQuinta Inn & Suites, 5110 N. Port Washington Road, after a desk clerk reported a disorderly woman in the lobby. When the officer arrived, Griffin was sitting in a chair in the lobby and immediately stated “I’m the one,” to the officer.

The desk clerk said Griffin complained there were bugs in her room and after staff was unable to find bugs in her room, she became disorderly and threatened to beat up the clerk after her shift was done. Griffin was escorted from the hotel and continued to threaten the clerk, then spit in the officer’s face four times while being taken into custody.
Griffin was turned over to the JUSTICE 2000 program for monitoring while awaiting trial.
