A 35-year-old Milwaukee woman is facing her second drunk driving charge after she was caught allegedly driving in the wrong lane of traffic in Fox Point.
Christina Cordova was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of second offense operating while intoxicated, one count of operating a motor vehicle with a prohibited alcohol concentration and one count of operating a motor vehicle after revocation of her license. If convicted, she faces up to 18 months in jail and $4,700 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
A Fox Point police officer was on patrol June 13 when he spotted Cordova heading northbound in the southbound lanes in the 7500 block of North Port Washington Road. He pulled Cordova over and smelled alcohol coming from inside the car.
Cordova said she had five drinks before driving. She failed field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol level of 0.198, which is more than twice the legal limit to drive in Wisconsin.
Cordova was previously convicted of OWI in December. She will make her initial appearance in court July 17.
