Absentee Voting Deadline is Friday

About 6 percent of residents have cast in-person absentee ballots so far in both Bayside and Fox Point, and the deadline is Friday at 5 p.m.

In case you haven’t heard, there’s a pivotal recall election coming up on Tuesday and it will be one of the rare times residents in Wisconsin get to vote in the heat of the summer.

However, if you have big plans or will be out of town on Tuesday, there’s still a week left to cast an absentee ballot at and village halls.

Due to the , voters won’t be able to register on Aug. 8, the Monday before the election. Registering and in-person absentee voting ends Friday at 5 p.m. Voters can register at the polls on Election Day. Applications for absentee ballots through the mail must arrive at the clerk’s office by 5 p.m. Thursday.

And it's a similar story in Fox Point. Village Clerk Tanya O'Malley said while it's tough to compare, to date there's a 6 percent turnout.

"It's hard to compare at this point how we're doing with other elections because we don't keep track day-by-day," O'Malley said. As of 3:30 p.m. Monday, O'Malley said the village had issued a total of 411 ballots, with 302 returned.
