Bayside Collects $1,000 for Victims of Fire on Rexleigh Drive

A total of 400 vehicles used the village hall lot and 150 came to the household hazardous waste site at Ellsworth Park for the Spring Cleanup event. Fill out the survey to help make next year even better!

Another great event where residents brought all you could. Great weather (no rain!) helped spark one of the best Clean Up Days yet. A quick rundown of everything collected:

  • Ten, 64-gallon containers filled with non-perishable food donations for Hunger Task Force;
  • $750 collected for Make-A-Wish Foundation;
  • $1000 collected for the Kahn family, victims of a recent Bayside house fire;
  • Two filled garbage dumpsters;
  • Three semi-trailers filled with GoodWill donations;
  • One semi-trailer and two large trucks filled with Habitat for Humanity donations;
  • Full dumpster of scrap metals collected;
  • A total of 35 pounds of prescription drugs properly disposed of;
  • Approximately six tons of recycling collected;
  • Trailer and truck filled with electronics;
  • Approximately 350 pounds of batteries disposed;
  • Several cell phones and ink cartridges recycled;
  • Over 250 gallons of paint.
