'Coyotes in Our Community' Informational Meeting

Learn about coyote behavior and their impact on the local community, specifically with regards to coyotes in urban settings, their behaviors, and options for coexisting.

Bayside will host an coyote informational workshop at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 6 in the Bayside Middle School cafeteria, 601 E. Ellsworth Lane. 

Everyone is invited to learn more about these animals calling the North Shore home. Participants can park in the north parking lot, located off of Ellsworth Lane. This workshop will cover coyote behavior and their impact on the local community, specifically with regards to coyotes in urban settings, their behaviors, and options for coexisting.

Main presenters include Urban Wildlife Specialist Lynsey White-Dasher from the Humane Society of the United States, and Wildlife Biologist Tom Isaac from the Wisconsin DNR.

They will outline and demonstrate several issues, including:

  • Insight on coyote ecology and behavior
  • Why coyotes are in our communities
  • How to deal with conflicts with coyotes
  • Tips for coexistence
  • Coyote hazing techniques
  • Questions – Ask the Experts Village of Bayside Police Department officials, as well as staff will also be on hand to answer questions from residents with regards to coyotes in the metropolitan area.
