Bayside, Fox Point Named Tree Cities

This is Fox Point's 24th year – and Bayside's fifth year – receiving the national designation.

Fox Point and Bayside have both received the 2012 Tree City USA designation by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of their commitment to effective urban forest management.

To be named a Tree City USA, a community must meet four requirements: a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita and an Arbor Day observance or proclamation.

This is Bayside's fifth consecutive year being named a Tree City, boasting over 4,900 trees in right-of-ways and public lands. Bayside also has an Adopt-a-Tree Program, which has resulted in nearly 650 new trees being planted since 2007.
