Beware: Spring Means Coyote Pups and Protective Adults

Coyote dens are filling with pups so take special care to scare them off and keep small animals inside where they are safe.

has received a few recent in and around the community.  The up-shoot in sightings is not surprising as coyotes have their pups predominantly in April and May. 

Residents should remember to take extra care with pets this time of year and make every attempt to scare these normally wary animals away. Coyotes, both male and female, become increasingly protective of their offspring in Spring and view family pets as threats to their young and/or food source.
