Kasle, Grodsky Take Seats on Nicolet School Board

District Administrator Rick Monroe says he's looking forward to working with the new members.

As handily as the , it was perhaps no surprise that the two School Board candidates who backed the referendum easily defeated the one who didn't.

Morton Grodsky and Joseph Kasle came out on top in the race for two terms on the board. Grodsky had 39 percent of the vote, Kasle had 37 percent and candidate Andrew Cegielski wound up with 24 percent.

Kasle, who previously held a position as president of the Maple Dale-Indian Hill School Board, said the key to his victory was his ties to the community.

"I think practical experience is very, very helpful. Our kids go from feeder district to Nicolet, so I guess our board members should consider going from feeder district to Nicolet," he half-joked.

Grodsky said he cared more about the referendum passing than his election to the board.

"When we talk about schools and how good Nicolet is, it’s not the brick and mortar, it’s the children we send there and our teachers," he said. " I’m looking to work with the teachers. We’re heard that it takes a village to raise a child. It also takes a village to raise and educate a child. Let’s all work together."

District Administrator Rick Monroe said he was looking forward to working with the new board members.

"The two people that got in are well connected with the community," Monroe said.  "I think that Joe Kasle and Mort Grodsky, they are going to be great board members.

"I’m really looking forward to working with them in the next few years here. I hope that they’re as excited to be on the board as I’m excited to be working with them," he added.
